i have a antifreeze leak that could empty the whole system in about 10 minutes.

it won't leak unless i turn the car on, after i shut it off it will continue to leak like a sob.

the leak is in the water pump area. i just replaced the water pump last night and it made no differance. my oil cooler lines are fine, what else has antifreeze in it in that area?

p.s. my car sucks!

sounds like you trying to convince yourself that its not the water pump :)
but I cant think of anything else on that side of the motor. maybe its a freeze plug

if its leakin that bad you should be able to see it, try get your hands on a cooling pressure tester and pressurize the system, remove the timing cover an u should everntually find it

btw, did you replace the o-ring on the water pipe?

You MUST put a new o-ring on (old one expands and will not seat properly) to the water inlet pipe, coat it with coolant, and THEN insert it into water pump. And use a new gasket on the pump (I use a new gasket and coat it with Permatex ultra blue rtv silicone gasket maker - never a problem ever). Also there are 4 different length bolts (out of 5) that must be put back in the correct holes. Check if the leak is around where the inlet pipe goes into the pump.

Be sure you used enough sealant on the water pump to make a good seal. Also be sure to torque the bolts adequately to get a good seal.

Torque them to spec, not "adequately" ;)

As already stated, take the timing belt cover off, and fire that bad boy up.

Possibly you've blown the headgasket around one of the water jackets/outside of block so it's leaking from there?

I have never used a torque wrench....and don't plan on it for anything not on the internal of the motor. But thats just me...I also build jet engines without useing a torque wrench once..except for seating bearings. But yeah...try what brad said....
