A few months ago I replaced my drivers side rear caliper. When I did,the anti-lock sensor light in my dash came on,and hasn't went off since. Now I know my car has ABS,the module thingy is below my blow-off valve, but can someone explain to me the difference between the two? I don't feel any difference in braking. I thought ABS was anti-lock? I'm getting a logger soon,is this something that can be cleared as well? It's pretty annoying at night

ABS is the ani-lock system. Check to see if you forgot to reconnect the wheel sensor on left side when you replaced the caliper.

No, your Pocket Logger won't clear that code (or even read it for that matter). I thought it would on mine too, but it doesn't (at leat not on my 2g). If you do a quick search you'll find a thread that talks about how to identify which sensor, or component, of your ABS isn't working. The procedure involves grounding pin 1 of your diagnostic port and counting how many times your ABS light flashes (long and short IIRC).

Again, this might be 2g specific.

When you replaced it, did you get a rotor with AWD + ABS? My local Autozone seems to only stock non-ABS rotors for DSMs. With no cast excitor ring, it'll think that the sensor is bad. If you got one with the excitor ring, did you make sure not to damage the ABS sensor while replacing the rotor? Did you reposition the sensor into its proper position?

I thought maybe I had bought rotors without that ring Talesin...But I rechecked and I do have the right ones. Very sure I repositioned the sensor correctly. However, yesterday I drove my car and the light went out on start-up. I had parked on an incline and used my e-brake. I have used my e-brake since I installed the new caliper, but only level ground, not really as steep as where I parked it. The brakes seem ok,I don't feel any dragging or hanging up and when I press on the brake pedal they don't feel mushy. Perhaps I didn't have the e-brake cable seated in enough on the side? I don't like things that 'fix' themselves,so I'm gonna have a look at the caliper if I have time today.
