antenna question

hey guys i have a 98 gst with an antenna that wont move i want to know if its possible, well actually if its easy to go from the retracting antenna to the whip antennas that you see on the basic eclipses? or if there is another easier antenna that i can install that would not be a retractable pain in the a@@!!! thankx for the help

Otherwise, any replacement antenna will work, from the rubber ones to the queerbait S2000 types to a simple Talon-type mast. Some guy's been hawking "European" style rubber ones on eBay for years.

hey thanks defiant, i had seen that thread before but i dont want to fix it cuz i know its going to break again, thats why i just wanted to get one of those black whip antennas but you say that any will do? cuz i mean isnt the hole size different from the mechanical mass to the little black whips? i dont wanna have to fill in anything well thanks again

almost every replacement antenna I have seen comes with many different mounting plates (which include 4 or 5 different fender caps). Mainly because most antennas are universal to the make of the car, not always the model. Some people like the short coil antenna (Sport coils i think) like on the new Benz and VW i think. With an adapter or 2 from Radioshack for the power, they work great.
