Well, I have my whole turbo system on and running and I just got back from my test drive....Which took about 5 min. and I open the hood and the turbo exhaust housing is smoking pretty good... I was wondering if that was normal when you buy a new turbo or if I should be worried about running lean.... I have an air fuel ratio guage but it's not hooked up because I don't have a downpipe right now. Let me know what you guys think....thanks

Here are some pics of my setup.....yes I know it really needs detailed.

It is absolutely normal. Of course, if it is smoking because of a leak (i.e. oil) that would be a problem. My advice would be to drive it easy for the first 50 miles or so. The smoke you are seeing is likely residual machining lubricant. My new exhaust manifold did the same thing.

Holy crap, the rust is everywhere. Please, make it stop!. LOL

Is there a downpipe on there?
