Hey guys more noo-b questions.... Ok so i've seen on the tech VFAQ forums some diagrams of the boost controller vacuum lines that show pluggin the fitting on the turbo and only running lines from the intake to the BOV and t-ing off to a MBC and then off the MBC to the wastegate....is this correct? cause rite now i have an externale WG that has a line goin to the turbo and the EBC....

Can anyone help....

Bottom boost controller nipple to boost source (j pipe, turbo ect.) Side boost contoller nipple to wastegate.

I'm sorry OP, I have no experience with External WG setups, but the above description is correct for everything besides that.

I take it that the Previous owner of the car attempted to do an emission delete?

I'm assuming thats the case cause it has the 46mm ext. WG with straight dump tube and then no cats under the car... but the car overboosting and i checked my WG and lines everything is in workin order so i guess my next choice is to perform a boost leak test or install a MBC to see if the stepping motor is the problem

External wastegate or internal wastgate, the installation is the same, i do see how it can get a little confusing though. Theres not alot of info on external wastegates so you have to do a bit of digging.

well see thats the thing the internal wastegate actuator all of them i've seen have only one fitting, and most your external have two...but i'm gonna pull that WG off and see what each port does..

ok man thats ### i needed to know cause he has the hose off the compressor going to the top and then one coming off the BOV goin to the side.....so its jacked up

thank you guys for all the info and i'll try to do some homework b4 i ask dumb questions again

Don't be afraid to ask questions, that's how you learn. Just do a search before hand.

Now go get those hoses on there correctly and make sure to get back to this thread and let us know if it worked out!

hey guys jus wanted to say thanks again......I ended up tlkin to a tech at National Speed Inc. in Wilmington, NC and he explained to me that the reason there were two lines connected to the wastegate was cause the one off the compressor was pushing the plunger open on the WG and the one off the top was helping to suck the plunger up with the vacuum off the intake for more response from the WG......sooo my problem ended up being what i had expected to begin with........the guy had the hoses backwards on the boost controller stepping motor (solenoid)..... but yea now just need to get it tuned and be ready to hit the strip... but hopefully i can post some times of what she done.
