Hey everyone. Ive read a lot on here about FMICs. But I havent quite found an exact answer. I have a 1990 Talon TSi AWD that is pretty built up. I have no clue what FMIC is on it now but its SMALL. The guy I bought it from suggested finding a new one. Below is a list of some of my mods. Im currently running only 15 psi on a Holset HX35 but want to run 20+ after tunned and with a larger FMIC. What would be the best option/brand to go with? Thanks!

6 bolt 4G63T engine
MAF translator
3" gm maf
Holset hx35 turbo
Turbo timer
Dsmlink
Walbro 255 lph w/ rewire
Sx fuel pressure regulator
External waste gate 15lb spring w/ external dump
Methanol injection
Shep racing street tranny
Evo3 gasket matched exhaust manifold
3" mandrel turbo back exhaust
Arp head studs
Wiseco .020 pistons
Eagle h beam rods
Balance shaft eliminator
Hks 272 cams
1mm oversized intake/exhaust valves
ACT 2600 clutch
Fidanza flywheel

ps not running the meth right now. Want to get everything fine tuned first

ETS is a great kit if you can deal with the price. You can find it here.

But for most, the kits from Punishment and VRSF are more than enough. Especially with a larger, more efficient turbo like a Holset. I like my Punishment kit, the setup is really nice for the price. With my H1E(HX40) at around 20psi my intake temps are never far from ambient. But this is also with the large 2g core and my front bumper cut to reveal the whole thing. The 1g kit appears to be smaller and I'm not sure if efficiency is the same.

So for a pump gas setup that needs top notch cooling, you may consider paying a little extra for an ETS kit. But with meth injection at your disposal, you shouldn't have any problems running either of the 3.

As said ETS will be your best bet... Quality & a decent price

Decent price?? You think 900 dollars for a fmic is a decent price? You're out of your mind! 300 > 900 Especially when the VRspeed kit comes with a larger core (unless you want to spend another 90$ on top of the already pricy 887 just to match the size of the VRS). Just my opinion though.

Well if he was running a 2g i would recommend the current IC on my car... personally i wouldn't mind paying the MSRP on a ETS unit.
