I needed it for reliability (thats why I bought it in the first place, not to go fast or look cool or w/e). Anyway I got a good deal on some skunk2 lowering springs that I couldnt pass the deal up on. And I bought some cheap ass OEM replacement type struts to go along with these. Installed everything, car looked good. So I drove like that for about 2 months, then one night I broke a ball joint. Why? Because lowering the car adds stress to suspension components for a few obvious reasons. Add that to the fact that all the components are 10 years old and 140K miles and its basically a recipe for disaster. Anyway when my ball joint broke, I slid into a curb doing 30MPH and the front right side of my car and radiator support were destroyed, airbags popped, windshield broke. Car got totalled. Because of my stupid mistake of not inspecting and replacing my other suspension components. Im telling you, I know how bad you want that drop right now (I was there, I know) but trust me, wait. You don't want to see your car getting towed away, you almost dieing (if I was going fast enough I would have died), killing others, etc. Suspension is serious shit, and I don't agree with these companies marketing cheap shit to kids. If you don't have the money to properly do suspension, DONT DO IT!! Just my $0.02.
