I just changed out my alternator because my other one went bad and ended up making my battery explode. So I change it and take it into autozone the next day to get it tested. At idle I was getting a reading of 13.78, rev it up to around 4g and it's putting out about 13.85. The guy told me that I might need to replace it since it's not putting out 14 volts, but (to me) it doesn't seem like it's that big of a deal. Advice anyone? Is it fine as is it, or should I return it and get another one?

Anywhere between 13.5-14V is within spec and is working fine. The guy just wants you to buy another alternator to make money off of you LOL.

You got it. Only other thing I would have checked ac voltage to be sure all the diodes were ok.

Other than that, you are all right. Good Job
