alternator problems

Can an alternator cause a miss ????

my car runs fine till I plug the alt in then it dies, and will not crank back unless I unplug it . also pos post getting hot

are you blowing the fusible link for the alternator? It could possibly be shorting somewhere, or the regulator fried.

It is oem correct?

all fuses good how do i check the regulator??? yes oem

think the guy befor me may have spilled powersteering fluid on it. tore it apart and cleaned it same results. maybe shot but it still charges so not sure

What makes you think its the alternator. Have you checked the voltage of the charging circuit? have you eliminated other variables? Many things can cause a misfire

if it is your alt going bad try wrapping the downpipe to keep some heat off the new one
