ALternator Problems

OKay i have been having the probelm of a squealing belt since i bought the car 6months ago and nothing i do seems to stop it. I believe that the problem is the alternator. It only squeals when the car has been sitting for a few hours like overnite or while im at work and i go to start it and it squeals anywhere from a few seconds to up to a minute and goes away until i let the car sit for a extended period of time. Iv replaced the belt twice now. ALso when it sqeals my volts drop by about 1.5V until the squealing stop then it goes to its normal voltage. Now im almost certain its a problem with the alternator but im not really sure what my options are. I live in canada so there arent any of these cars in junkyards and no place carries them. I would really like to upgrade to something much larger as i do have a very hefty system and would liek something around 120 amps.

Car is a 2G GST

Any help you guys can provide on my situation would be Greatly Apreciated.

only thing i can think of is getting a alternator out of a 1g Talon since they are somewhat available in junkyards and i heard that the canadian DSM's recieved a slightly larger alt at 90amps but could i use the 1G turbo alt in a 2G turbo car without any modifcation?

i had the same problem for awile and i was wasting belts left and right... i went through 3 alternators in about 6 months. i finally gave up and took it to a dealer and the problem was somewhere in the fuse box. but they upgraded the alternator and i had to adjust the tensioner on it a couple times but finally got it to fit right.
good luck, i know how annoying that squel can be.

all right where can i get a 110A+ alternator for my 2g turbo car iv looked everywhere and no one seems to make it and no shops withing 5 hours of me will build me a custom one...
