alt. belt fell off

i replaced my altenator and power steering belt about a week ago. then today i got out to my car start it up and a loud noise happens. i go to look where all the drivebelts are and see the harmonic balancer/crank pulley or whatever is like all kinds of crooked. i tryed putting the belt back on but it wont line up because of the other pulley being bent. i know this has probably been answered but just seeing if you guys might know what it is .

I have read on multiple posts where the crank pulleys will seperate. The rubber (i think) in them will crack and tear apart. This may be your problem. However, if someone with more knowledge chimed in that would be great.

I'd also say your crank pulley fell apart, but to be sure look in your drivers side wheel well towards the pulley and you should be able to see where the outer ring has seperated from the center piece.

Your harmonic balancer pulley broke apart,the rubber part of the harmonic balancer usually go out due to it's age, I recommend picking up a oem balancer if you replace yours

Another thing is sometimes the bracket for the power-steering pump and alternator might be bent slightly. You try loosening some of the bolts and wiggling to see if it lines up. My PS bracket was off, I bolted it down and it straightened up.

I'd check out your whole pulley bracket while you are at it, cause the adjuster bolt and other things may have bent when your belt fell off. Its one whole system.

im gunna take some pics. and hopefully figure out how to post the pics on here. im about to pull it all apart and see whats up. ill keep you guys posted and thanks in advance for all the advice
