OMG. Did I talk with you in the PMs about having the buddy with the Supra say he had a puller for this thing? I think so. LOL.

I'm not really sure about using some longer bolt (singular), I'm pretty sure the puller you rent at AutoZone has everything you need. It's got the one center bolt with a point that goes into the bolt hole, and then has 3 jaws that slip inside the OEM pulley and will get the pulley off everytime.

Oh well.

Longer bolt to put the new pully on? Good luck. It's a weird thread. I stumped every hardware store I went to with that one. I ended up using a rubber mallet to gently beat it on, until I could get enought thread on the bolt. Then I used an impact wrench to tighten it down and press the pully onto the crank. If you heat the UDP it should go on easily.

Oh and by the way, that was the wrong puller. OEM makes one specifically for chrysler motors that use this type of crank pully. It's the only tool I have found that will work, it's called a 'Chrysler crank pully puller' and it's right there in the tool rental sheet at autozone. It correct tools make a job a lot easier. Now go bake your UDP and slip it on, you don't need a bigger bolt and your never going to find one anyways. 1.25 thread pich or something weird.

NO NO NO not to put it on..LOL...u take the old bolt out that isnt long enough and out it in its place...then take the puller tool and use it the same way u would before...then u have alot more to work with and it will not mess it up or nuttin...it would be the same....maybe i should have wrote this the first time..LOL...i dunno..well i guess the reason i found a bigger bolt is we have so many layin around the shop..but its all good either way will work..i know mine will i have one on the car...LOL

ok for those who are gonna be asking this same question.. and have the same problem...

that use the Search option..

here is the answer...

i went to a bolt and screw place... and got a screw about a half inch longer than stock..

screwed it in...

placed the impact gun on the bolt i screwed in.

the 3 jaws on the inside of the puller.

and it came right off...

well that answers everyones ?..size does matter....

use the longer one...:thumb:

I installed the AFX crank pulley with no problems at all. The bolt is a little hard to get back in there but it will grap you just got to tap on the pulley with a mallet and make sure its straight then start the bolt a little and zip it in there with an air gun! and your done.
