Air intake (increase cold air)

I will be inserting a K&n air filter in to the stock box and i thought how to increase the air ammount getting into the airfilter box.

And i am thinking to do the folowing but i want to get an oppinion, suggestion, or a warrning.

What if i extended the hose number 2 to the bottom of the car (made that the air can pass it through because it is a dead end)
And make a direct air flow into the box through the number 2 that way the air will flow through the box and exit through hose 1

Now wont this make damage to the engine because of the increased (forced air flow on higher speads into the filter box)?

I just want to find a cheap way to increase air flow into the filter box.

I can't remember cause its been so long ago, but I would always either hack the can or somehow just make it so the 3 clips just clipped right on to the filter. Search 1g cold air intake, and you will probably find someone who has done the same thing.

Yes i have read that but i do not want to remove anything cut open leave stock just play with forcing air into the box and making a way out for the air that at high speed highly forced air would get out and not be forced in when additional air is not required
(make that the air would flow through the box just the engine will take as much air as it needs)

There is no reason to make air flow THROUGH the airbox. You want it to come in just how it is and let your engine breath it in.

then how about i only extend the hose number 1 to the botom that it could take some cold air. That way there would be another air entrance.

Now my question is is it ok to extend it to the bottom (will it catch cold air?) the hose will be in the middle left of the engine section if looking by the photo but it will be extended as much as possible to the point of the lowest car part no more that it wouldnt get ripped of or something

Yeah, I don't see why that wouldn't work just fine.

Why dont you just take the box off? leave the clamps holding the filter and take off the air box. Thats what I did to my 1.8L and it worked just fine.

wont it catch for example hot air from the radiator?

I thought about it but i want to leave it stock (because i will use the k&N filter for summers and normal filter for winter)

Yup.... It sure will. Your best bet is to leave the canister alone and extend the fresh air tube.

i would leave the stock container....it will for sure gather heat from the rad. and no point in letter air pass through. the motor takes air as it needs it with the throttle body....have more air "forced" in wont hurt it...and if you are driving fast enough to be "forcing" air in, then your throttle plate will be open and will enjoy the extra boost of air.

If you do decide to get a CAI that sits low, you should definitely get a bypass valve for it. I went into a shop and asked for one and they said "Oh we don't have any. In fact, it doesn't rain here enough to need one." Nearly two weeks later, Virginia Beach saw one of its worst floods, and I hydrolocked the engine on my way to deposit a check to pay for my insurance (ohhhh the irony).

So then i will think something only with the original air intake (I will not make the bottom air intake leave it as it is)
But if i will be forcing air in on higher speeds and realese the gass pedal while on that speed wont the engine get too much air
Because i have read somhere that when the air is forced directly even the throttle plate cant stop the air from entering making problems when realisng gass pedal on high speeds (or switching to neutral making the engine rpm drop to 900-1000 where it does not need so much air but while the car is still moving at high speed the air will be forced in still)
or i am wrong?

It isn't going to hurt anything at all.

I'll say it again....It isn't going to hurt the engine, so just do it and don't worry about it.

I have never heard of a ram air setup (which is essentially what you are making) on any engine causing harm when the throttle is closed at high speeds.
