I recently purchased a new air intake for my 1993 Eclipse 1.8L NT (hose and filter). The airflow meter does not fit into the new air filter as it does in the factory air filter. Has anybody else had this problem? And if so, how did you get the airflow meter to work with the aftermarket intake. I'm sure the ECU will do something strange if I am to leave it out. It is a rather small air filter...is the solution just to get a bigger air filter? Please help.

I'm assuming you got the ebay intake, throw the filter away and get a K&N, hack the air can box, buy an extra 3" coupler and put it all togeather, do a search in the NT forums and you'll find how many times people have asked this and you'll see what kinda options you have. The search is a great tool.

I actually bought it from my friend..but it does resemble these ones on eBay.....I still have the old one and I have it in right now so that I can drive it....sorry for asking, but thank you. Are the eBay intakes bad or something? He gave it to me for cheap...but is it not worth it?

Uhhh...just out of curiosity are the 3" couplers universal and I could find them at any parts store or do I need to order a specific one?
