Injectors = Mass Air Meter ?

Now it would make sense that if i were to go to a 550 cc injector and a higher flowing fuel pump that i would also need a new mass air meter. The thing is ive never heard or remember hearing anyone ever really talking bout that. Is this true or do can i use the stock one also ..any injectors or pump to look for / stay away from , they have massive amounts of injectors on ebay , dont want to buy the wrong ones. As always input is much appricated

walbro 190 or 255 pumps are best (get the 255), and as far as the 550's go, they will pump out 20% more fuel. So really in order to put the 550's in, you need one of 2 things... or both (perfered).... A 2g mass air flow will flow 20% more air then your stock 1g, so it will kind of even it all out. OR you can get an SAFC, but you will have to take away fuel to make the car run good. Id personaly get the 2g mas and SAFC at the same time. RC engineering makes good injectors... but id worry more about getting an exhaust then injectors.

actully i just got a 2.5 ran about a week ago . But you can run the 550 cc with a 255 pump on the 2nd g maf ? without the safc

yeah i know some people that have ran a 255 with 550's and a 2g mass with out problems... seeing how the 550's richin it up about 20% and the mass will lean it out 20% it will be pretty close. But if you go that route, id highly recommend a pocketlogger so you know whats goin on. and then a SAFC. (im just doing it all at once)

yea i might do that ...i might be waiting for a lil while im bout to pick up a ebc for like 200$ so that will tie up some funds for a week or 2

DONT PUT A BOOST CONTROLLER ON!!!

or atleast dont turn it up past stock. you NEED AT LEAST a fuel pump to turn the boost up... and rewire it while you are at it.

I just went through this with my GVR4 when I went to a 2g MAS and 550's. First of all, if you are going to a 255 pump then you NEED to get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I got away without one with my stock 450's but with the 550's all the fuel trims were at 81% and my gas mileage went down the toilet. Not to mention I was getting knock all over the place. Oh, I forgot to mention that the ECU was chipped for 550's with a 2G MAS and the car still freaked out. Do yourself a favor and don't get a 255 without an AFPR (not that B&M crap either, get a Kirban or an Aeromotive). Second, go check out Jeff's site for a chip that compensates for the 550's and a 2G MASas well as removes fuel cut and has many other options. His site is DSMChips.com and he is a great guy, he will answer any questions you may have, and he sells a top quality product. Oh, and save that money you are going to spend on an EBC and just buy a decent MBC, it will do exactly what you need it to. Good Luck!! One last thing a some sort of logger is definitely critical to tune the car right.
