Air filter too small?

Ok so I had a n/t talon like 5 years ago and put a injen short ram intake on it, and when i got rid of the talon i kept to the intake. Anyways I just bought an MAF adapter and installed the air filter on my gst. My question is, can a filter be to small, and is it ok to use a filter designed for a n/t car on a turbo car?Thanks

That looks fine. I've seen a lot with the similar set up. It's not like your gonna be pushing alot of hp were the turbo demands air. Look at the hks filter and does it look like it makes a difference then that one? And looks like you're still on the t25!

Edit:
I run the k n fipk kit with the injen intake tube. I can not run a long route intercooler cause it won't fit the stock upper pipe hole!

yea thats what i was thinking. and no im not still running the hair dryer t-25 , i have a 14b. I don't know why I didn't install this sooner, i can actually hear my turbo spool and the stock bov is really loud now.

Yep! That's what it does. My exhaust got louder also!

really, like how much louder? I still have the stock exhaust and i love the sound at idle, its just not that loud at WOT. Im working on a custom 3 inch right now, it's just taking me awhile because im being lazy .

If your boosted, an air filter will do nothing to make your exhaust louder, that's on the complete opposite end of the system.
If anything, it MIGHT be a little louder at idle, I doubt it would be noticeable.

Mines just got loud after the air intake install. Or maybe theres a hole in my exhaust. But yes, just at idle!

Once you delete the stock airbox, the exhaust will get louder. Especially if you take out that box between the the ic and lower ic piping on a STOCK 2g, even louder.

You'll know the air filter is too small when it collapses on itself.

the formula for K&N flow is 6CFM per square inch. Just looking at it and not knowing the measurements I would say that filter flows more than 300CFM and the 14B isnt going to flow more than that so your OK.

The thing is, as soon as you are at positive pressure, your air filter mods should be negated with the sound difference, right? So sure, it may be louder at the exhaust side off boost, but no way on boost(besides now that your flowing more air).
Now what your probly thinking is how much louder it is now that you can hear the compressor?
