The LUK isnt as weak as you think it is. GSX made ~370whp that was clutch limited, ran some mid 12's and then an 11.9. Mlopez on this board also lays down ~377whp on an ACT2100, that clutch took one weekend at that power and took a shit.

Both now have 2600's.

I was wondering if a few of you guys who are running these turbo set-ups could give me a consumer's opinion on what trim/set-up would be best for my FWD DSM. I've been looking into the 50 trim with the .48 ar, but I'm not so sure that would be the best turbo set-up to get me into the low 12s/ high 11s. I know about the necessity of supporting mods, and I do plan on calling AGP myself with this question as well, but I'd like to get the opinions of people who are running these turbos and a few of you in this thread seem to own them. Thanks for any help...

A 50 trim from AGP will definitely get you in that range. With all supporting mods of course and some fine tuning.

Honestly, I think every variation of the 50 trim has the power to achieve the goals you are seeking. I by no means have reached the maximum of the .48 a/r housing and would imagine in a track environment a bigger exhaust side (like a .63 or possibly .82) would make your goals easier to obtain due to the additional hp ratings those bigger housings offer.

Of course, as with most other things in life ... results may vary. There is a tremendous amount to be said for those that can dial in their car's tuning to achieve impressive times. As for me, I figured the turbo alone would make up for my lack of experience ( or was that the dyno time :D ) - and thus I have hit a mark I was hoping to hit.

In the end, it appears that the most common application I've seen on FWDs is the .63 a/r housing. Why is it you ask, well it's been said that .48 a/r housing almost comes on too fast so the .63 apparently comes on "softer" for you FWD guys. This in addition with the FWD gearing should make the loss in spool more than tolerable.

Lastly, supporting mods. Well, you don't have to crack the engine if thats' what you mean. But fuel mods (injectors, fuel control, and fuel pump) are gonna be a neccessity. Also, probably wanna consider an upgraded intercooler of some variety. Beyond that, just turn down the boost if you are concerned.

MLOPEZ...thank you for your response- it's great to see another FWDer with big goals and big mods to back them up.

GSX...Your response was exactly what I was looking for, so I thank you greatly. I probably should have been a little clearer about my reasons for asking about the .48 vs .63 & up a/r housings. I'd read in some other posts that a larger housing would create a more gradual spool which would be better for a FWD application, which is why I asked. But without me even specifying, you've answered my concern. I'm pretty new to modding these cars, so my tuning ability leaves ALOT to be desired too, and I'm hoping that a more potent turbo set-up will make up for my lack of initial traction and my inability to get the car to run/perform at its best- so I guess we're kinda in similar situations. Thanks again for your help- I have a much better idea of what I'm getting myself into now just from reading you reply.

By the way, you guys in Arizona seem to have some insane cars. I'd hate to be cruisin around on a summer night where I live and come across any of your cars...LOL. Respect and props to all of you guys.
