Ok

I finally have my AFX ECU installed and after a few days of driving my car it feels better in every way

better throttle response, revs faster blah blah blah

my question is; why do I get fuel cut at 7000 RPM???

I have no CEL for my removed Cat and eliminated EVAP

but yesterday at the track i got fuel cut at 7k RPM and it is supposed to be shifted at 8250 RPM (according to howell specs)

my VSS is not working; would that be the reason?

any help would be appreciated

Are you sure its fuel cut and not hitting the rev limiter? For Howell's specs, that's kind of funny. I know my changed the limiter to 7400, seen another at 8500, and then another at 7800. The rev limiter seems to very, regardless I wouldn't be pulling much above 7k without a built head.

well it haves a set of crane 12's, 60mm Jeep TB, P&P IM and Adjustable Cam gears

believe me my butt dyno feels the difference, the car runs way better but i was waiting to see my engine revving at 8k :(

when i talked to gary at howell automotive he told me they can not adjust the rev limiters anymore like they use to for many reasons. mine does the same thing also (which was recently installed). mine hits 6800 rpm and gets fuel cut it does not bounce of the revs like a stock ecu would. i think its good even on my built motor. i think its obviously done for good reasons.

I'd at least upgrade the springs and retainers before revving that high.

I would change them

also I was checking under my car and found something

my knock or crank sensor was not connected!?!?!?

the car was running fine, just fine but now I just fell that it revs a little better but haven't tried to hit the revs that high

would that sensor be the reason of my "problem"? :p
