Okay so I have a 95 eclipse gsx and I just bought a Blitz DD BOV off a friend of mine. I still have to buy the Flange and such to attach it but I was wondering is it at all bad to my motor to put this aftermarket BOV on? Will it be beneficial at all to the motor or just improve the sound of the BOV? I'm new to this stuff so sorry if these are dumb questions.

So if I buy the Recirculation Flange will it be able to fit on my car?

Yea it should I've never heard of a recirculating blitz bov but if they make it definitely put it on your car. I had a blitz bov on my big Turbo gsx and didn't like it too much

I dont even think they can be recirculated LOL. They sound SICK though so slap that puppy on there once you get that flange. Maybe even think of hard intercooler piping?

As others said if you can recirculate it, use it. Pretty much any bov is going to be an improvement over the stock one. The stock bov on a 2g leaks even at stock boost.

Okay well how do I know if I can recirculate it?

Blitz Super-Sound Blow-Off Valve DD (Dual Drive)
here they have something called a recirculation flange? But is that even the right thing?

And if it can't be recirculated, should I just forget about it or what?

Oh and I was thinking about hard intercooler piping, but not until I get the money for that which I don't know when that will be.

The description makes it sound like it is not intended to be recirculated, but I have never used and don't know anyone who has used this bov. If it can't, don't bother unless you plan to use a GM maft or switch to speed density, both of which will cost you more money and aren't necessary at the point you're at. Running a bov that is vented to the atmosphere on a stock DSM is bad. That air getting expelled to the atmosphere is already accounted for, thus making you run rich when you shift. Venting can also cause idle issues and stalling.

only holds to 18psi it says, what an overpriced piece of crap\

get a ngr type s bov for like 140 or so and then your set.

just cause you hear companies like that in all the magazines, doesnt mean there the best.

the NGR bov is like half the price and will hold more boost and sounds like the greddy bovs

And a 1g or Evo 9 bov will cost less then half that and are better yet.

I understand that and I did not buy it at full price, I got a really good deal from my friend and so I decided to try it out thinking I could sell it if it wasn't good. But besides that, like they said above they sound pretty good, I heard that also.

I don't want to hurt my engine for a little bov sound though, so if it cannot be recirculated, then I might sell it.

But if anyone can answer if it can be recirculated or not, that'd be appreciated.

I was referring to like aftermarket ones. those are both mitsubishi oem....but still yeah they are great upgrades.

and I'm pretty sure it doesnt recirc.....I'd sell it if i were you and pickup a evo 9, 1g, NGR....something cheaper and better.

what are your goals anyway...even if the blitz 1 did recirc, it says it only holds 18lbs.

Well I wasn't planning running to much boost. I don't even know about a turbo upgrade.
This is my first car and I if I do anything wrong and mess it up somehow, I'm out a car. Running a bigger turbo and such would lead to me probably screwing up somewhere.

But I was looking and if I cut the sus filter or whatever, I can modify some kind of way to recirculate it? But I don't know if it's worth it. I guess I'll try to put it on Craigslist and see if I can get my money back.

I've heard the 1g are just about the best but I really would like a cool bov noise and I guess they don't do that. Maybe a greddy one? or i'll keep looking.

Edit: Oh and there is a stiffer spring you can get for the lbitz one to run higher boost.

Man I hate when people worry more about the sound then the performance of a bov, so much so that they'll pay well over double the price of a good mitsu cbv (1g and Evo 9) for a name brand one. If it's recirculated, it's going to make less noise that's just the way it is. Without converting to speed density or running a gm maft, you can't safely vent. If you want the best of both worlds, get hard intercooler and intake piping. This will make any bov/cbv much louder, even when recirculated. This includes valves like the 1g and Evo 9 ones.

Last I heard the Blitz bov vents to the atmosphere. So I wouldn't use it.
There's a recircluation flange in the parts list of the link the O.P. linked in post #7, so you heard wrong.

Sell your blitz and get a 1g. Or a crushed 1g.

No need for a crushed 1g bov! I ran a non crushed 1g bov into the mid 11s last year, with no issues... Though It did have the garage mod done to it...

So this recirculation flange will let me put this BOV on my car safely? Correct? And is that all I need or do I need the elbow too?

And I care more about performanace than sound, that's why I wouldn't throw this on there and vent it into the atmosphere for a sweet bov sound and it be terrible for my motor.

The sound is just a bonus :)
