Hey i have a completley bone stock gst and was wondering what all is needed to install a greaddy type-s bov...and would it be easier for it to be recirculating or atmospheric? :hellyeah:

oh btw its a 97 gst

Tour going to need a upper intercooler pipe with the blow off flange and your going to need to block off the hole in the intake hose

It runs better when you recirculate it because the air is already accounted for so it will run rich and sometimes stall out.

It is not that we are being unhelpful it is that this questions gets asked everyday atleast 100 times. There is multiple threads on this all that is needed is a search button. It is the first place you should search when you have a questions, cause if you have it, then more than half of the ppl here have asked it as well. Just a warning cause if you post more posts like this you will get flamed.

You can run the type-S Atmospherically thats how i had mine..on some cars it idles a little weird like stalling but if you adjust the the idle it can resolve it... If you recirc it you will kill the sound of the blow off...Buy the real Greddy or the HKS SSQV not the fake ones

yep pipes with flange...Just Buy an inexspensive FMIC Kit on ebay for starters.... If your car is bone stock it will not do u any harmm :)

right because the sound is so much more important. :ohdamn:

Cody... you can buy hard piping with the greddy flange, or they also make an adapter to use your existing piping. you will want to recirculate it, and i believe with the type s you can use your existing recirc hose as well. i am going to discourage you from buying an ebay front mount intercooler kit, only because a) you don't really need a front mount if your car is still pretty much stock and b) they don't come with all pipes needed to properly install one. i would know, i bought one :ohdamn: what a waste of money. you can buy the stock side mount piping from punishment racing who has it as a kit. here is a link:

Punishment Racing your parts source for the Mitsubishi Evo & Eclipse, Eagle Talon and Laser

good luck bud! :thumb:

You dont lose the sound when it is recirculated, especially if you got metal pipes. I can here my stock one through my stock pipes just fine, let alone if I upgraded, All this has been covered in many threads if you search. Performance wise it is best to recirc it.

I am going to add to this for the next person who probably won't see it...but I like tuners so much I want to contribute.

People, If you have a stock turbo unit, putting a front mount intercooler on your
car will make your turbo suffer for it and wear out sooner, because the pressure will take longer to build up every time the turbo spools. which leads to higher turbine rpm's that arent doing you any good. Larger turbos flow more air
and can pressurize the chamber much faster so fmic's are not a problem for them. just my .02
