Aftermarket 1g Powertrain to 2g auto

Okay well for a better understanding of why, I will start off with some history. I got the 97 car from my parents. the car is a beauty. We had it in the family since i was a little kid. they wanted to sell it or scrap it. I wouldnt let them. And I have a 90 talon that is fully built up. Dsm Link-Ecu, stage 3 tranny, 2.3L stroker 6-Bolt motor to my 97. yes I know I have to get the extra parts such as the clutch assembly... its all aftermarket. I wish and plan to swap all of my 1G's Powertrain and what-not. I want to swap my 1g package to my 2g shell.

My main question is, can it be done?? ..... do I need a 2g ecu?? etc..
can I just bolt my transfercase and tranny to the 2g????

You would need to put the parts from your 1G transmission into a 2G case, as you have to use the 2G bellhousing that has motor mounts on it.

2G's have 3 mounts on the transmission and 1 on the engine; 1G's have 1 mount on the transmission and 3 on the engine.
