To those that are running aftermarket pistons, which brand do you recommend?
Anyone had a custon set made?
Who would you recommend for custom, one off sets? Price?

I'm looking for a set of pistons with a 12.5:1 or higher CR. Higher the better.

I've looked at JE, Ross, Arias, Wiesco (sp?). None of them carry anything higher than 10:1.

Ross or Wiseco, If you call them they should offer to make them custom. If not check out Magnusmotorsports they have a listing of alot of different compression pistons some I think comming close to suiting your needs.

Highest compression magnus has is 11.5:1. I need 12.5:1 or higher.

Brand wise what issues have people had? (example: Ross can't handle high boost, etc)

Ross is what Shep was using and Wiseco is what I'm using. If its a daily driver I'd recommend the Wiseco's for their silicone content, they don't give much piston slap if machined right.

Ross is a damn good piston also and I've heard good things but I've heard they get a little more slap than Wiseco's and mines a DD.

I've seen nothing but bad results with JE in dsm's due to machine shops not knowing the right clearances. I've never dealt with them personally but I've just seen toasted motor, worn cylinder walls, or lots of piston slap.
