AFC Knock

Is there any problems with my knock reading 7 ish at idle and more than 30 taking off.Fast or slow about the same amount of knock..On mild days and morgnings there is little to no knock reads. Man when is hot the knock reading sometimes hits 50's and higher. Will adding 550's solve my issue or is this knock reading on AFC like a dummy light?

Knock readings on an AFC are generally unreliable. You'll need to use a logger, DSM Link or an EPROM ECU with a chip to accurately see knock. I would recommend at least a logger anyway, but it's not required if you choose any of the latter two options.

The AFC is not a good source of if your motor is knocking. I'm not sure the reasons behind it, but I know it is not very accurate. If you want to know if your car is knocking you should buy a logger. The only way to log knock on 2g's is to log the timing, and if your car is pulling too much timing then it is knocking.

I just got mine from obdloggers shipped for $150 and received it two days later. If you look around the classifieds or E-Bay you might find it a little cheaper.

Knock on 2g with afc does not work. Logger you check with timing retard I believe? DSMLink will show you knock real time, and a bunch more. http://www.dsmlink.com
You have a 95, with eeprom ecu, you are already halfway there. A lot of people look to steal your ECU for this purpose. Just a suggestion.
