S-AFC II not reading Knock

I have a S-AFC II installed in my 90 TSi. I have a datalogger and I am getting about 15 counts of knock, but the S-AFC it reads zero. When I go into sensor check on the AFC the knock sensor reads 50 to 100 counts of knock, but still nothing in the display mode.

Does anyone have any ideas?

The S-AFC II doesn't know how to read knock on our cars, disregard anything it says and stick to strictly the logger.

I know that but the S-AFC II should still display the knock. The knock on the S-AFC II is roughly 100 counts of knock is about 2 counts on a datalogger. I'm not using the S-AFC II knock to tune.

It doesn't read it correctly, that's all. You can't get 100 counts of knock. Just use the datalogger.

I know that you can't get 100 counts of knock and I know the AFC reads the knock incorrectly, but thats not the problem. The problem is it doesn't display any knock.
Your not understanding my problem, but Thanks for the help anyway.

I understand the problem, and the problem is that the AFC-II can NOT display knock on our cars, period. If it does happen to display it correctly, it's purely by accident. A logger displays it by requesting the knock information from the ECU. It is this software handshaking that allows the logger to display knock in the first place, which the AFC-II simply is not capable of.

Ok, Thanks for the info. I've seen other S-AFC II display the knock I was just wondering why mine didn't, but I jsut won't worry about it. Thanks

Maybe, but he just stated more technically which I understood better.

It probably doesnt display knock because the wire is not hooked up. Most people dont hook up the wire to monitor knock because it's not accurate.
