I have had my Talon since it was born and love it! I still have an AFCII in there. Is this too out of date? Is there a better replacement? Thanks!

Yed go get yourself dsm link. Afc can only do so much. And the possibilities are almost endless with dsm link.

DSM Link, or if you have the black case ecu you can run evoscan/evoflash.

Also, there are many newer versions of the AFC. SAFC, SAFCII, Neo, I think there may even be a newer version than the Neo.

Can I just install the DSM link easily? ....do I need a shop to tweak it or is it pretty simple with a little help and research on this site? Thanks guys!

ecmlink require a eprom ecu, in your case, a 2g eprom ecu.

the install in pretty straight up, you will need ot service or have someone service you Eprom ECU. The stock chip within needs to be removed and socketed: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-tuning-ecu/266472-socketing-eprom-ecu.html

You can send it to ECMlink and they will do the work for you, and also set you up with link.If I were you I would get a ecu patch harness for installing logging sensors to the eCU link instead of splicing the wires. They also have easy wiring for the AFC

Extensions

Since you have a 2g, you also have the option of running a flashable ECU and tuning that way.

Ecmlink is pretty straight forward, it works the same way as the flashable 2g ecu, you program what you want and the software (ECMlink) will flash that data ontop the new Eprom chip in your ECU. The best part about ECMlink is that when you screw up you can flash stock setting back and start over. Here's a link for the demos of initial set up: ECMTuning, Inc.
