ok, so ive been doing some work to my car in the past few weeks. got a pocket logger and thats where my trouble started.
p.s. not a newb but not sure where this might belong. moderators please move if it doesnt belong here.
i noticed that my base throttle position setting was low. it was at 4.3%. after doin some reading i found its supposed to be at or around 10% with the throttle closed. so i adjusted it. this is all seen with my palm.
also did a battery disconnect to reset the ecu so i could adjust my fuel trims.
what my problem is is the safc is reading out 100% throttle before the throttle is actually all the way open. looking at the palm, the ecu is at 60% when the safc hits 100%.
so. i did some research and realized there is a throttle learn feature on the safc 2. tried doing it several times and still reading the same way.
so referred to reading voltage. the tps is a 0v to 5v sensor. throttle closed i have .48-.49v which is the needed 10%. at wot i see 4.8-5v. this is normal. but the safc see's 100% throttle at 3v.
so confused
because before i adjusted my tps the safc was seeing 100% at wot and 0.0% at closed throttle.
any help/ ideas/suggestions? need to correct this before i can tune properly because the safc will adjust fuel according to throttle position. so if im at 60% throttle the safc is adjusting for 100% throttle. and this cant be good to tune with.
just an add on, this is the throttle learn procedure right out of the manual.
5. self learning the throttle opening
self learn the throttle opening. hold the throttle fully closed for about 10 seconds. after that, hold the throttle fully open for about 10 seconds.
what i dont quite understand is that while doin the initial setup, the ignition is in the on position so the throttle is already fully closed. so how do you hold the throttle fully closed if its already closed???
