Has anyone had a bad sensor right out of the box?
Back story:
The car I recently bought already had an AEM wb installed and working correctly.
For a xmas present to myself, I bought a new 3" Thermal catback and 3" DP; {side note: thermals come with a 2.5" flange so you will need to modify it to 3" to fit a 3" dp} when i went to remove the wb o2 sensor out of the old exhaust, I couldn't make it budge even tried a breaker bar and popeye spinach!!
So out came the sawzall and off it went!!
I didn't mind destroying the sensor since I had a new AEM UEGO gauge setup I bought for my vette i was going to use in.
I robbed the box of the new sensor and installed it in my talon. Button everything back up and start the car, the gauge "boots" up like normal then goes straight to 14.7 and doesn't move. I drove the car for about 20mins... still pegged at 14.7... I researched this online and everyone says it's either a bad sensor or bad connection.
Well I know it's not the connection because the only thing disconnected was the big main sensor connector. I had a kung-fu grip on it as well when I stared the car a 2nd time. So I'm left with it being a bad BRAND NEW sensor? WTF
I found the YT video of how to check for a bad sensor but, mine doesn't react like the one on the video. It just stays at 14.7.
Has this happened to any one else?? Who has the best price on sensors!!
Chris
