420A Bad O2 sensor. Help!!

My 99 gs had a header and down pipe put in a little while back and my 0.2 sensor was extremely close to my fan, Well my fan ripped my o2 sensor right out of the exhaust and i dont have money to replace it...... My question is.. can i run my car like that?? PS-- Once the engine gets to normal temp, it idles below 1grand and gets real close to 0 and it seems like its about to die then it goes back up to 1grand and repeats..... It sounds like an old cammed chevelle... Please Help!!!

yeah its throwing a code, i don't really need it right away but i don't get paid for another week so i have to either wait or just get someone to buy it for me until i can pay them back.

Honestly I cant see it being more then $20, plus the O2 sensors super small and light weight, so I'd be able to more then likely send it in a large envelope. Could take about 2 weeks to get it tho, but I wouldn't run your engine until you get a new O2. Could you take a pic of your plug end? so I can confirm there the same so I don't send you one that wont work.

Ok, i actually cant right now but i can tomorrow morning i stayed with a friend tonight and im not with my car. and i figured i shouldn't run my car like that but i wasn't sure, thanks for letting me know so i don't mess my car up.

Ok, i actually cant right now but i can tomorrow morning i stayed with a friend tonight and im not with my car. and i figured i shouldn't run my car like that but i wasn't sure, thanks for letting me know so i don't mess my car up.

no worries man, I wouldn't be able to check till tomorrow as well anyways. I'll be finishing stripping my parts car tomorrow and sending the rest to the scraper hopefully so I might not reply right away.

A 92 o2 sensor wont plug up to a 99 but you can drive it but you will be getting horrible gas millage in the mean time.

ok,thanks. and i figured.. my gas was at a half gallon yesterday and i only drove probably about 30 miles or so and i hit a quarter tank

nope, your mixture will be rich or lean, depends, if is rich you gonna lose some power and increase your MPG's since there is an unstable mixture, so dont worry, just change your O2 sensor asap
