Hey guys, im new to the tuning side of DSM's and i have no idea where to start. I am currently running an SAFC and GM MAFT in my 1g 6 bolt talon with 650cc injectors, 255l/h fuel pump and stock turbo. They were already in the car and running a bad tune, I was told by a reputable guy to just sell those two things and buy the AEM EMS V1. An EPROM ECU came with the car, but the stock ECU is still installed.

I would love some input on what to do as i am in over my head, and was told the AEM V1 is plug and play and can be tuned from my laptop, any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

And for about the same amount for DSMLink you can get a good used AEM and you don't half to use a 20+ year old ECU.

The OP is obviously at least a bit new to the ECU and tuning options and stated himself "i am in over my head", and you would recommend that he starts with an AEM standalone?

BTW - The 20+ year old ECU running ECMLink has made well over 1000hp and is being used successfully in hundreds of high-power street cars...with a HELL of a lot shorter learning curve.
