Ok not to sure on this but I'm use to my chipped ECU in my Integra which will do what ever you ask of it depending on the tuning software which the DSM had the same capabilities aka EPROM. Now the question I have is, which is better on a bang for your buck DSM/ECMLink or an early AEM EMS that you can buy for 400?

"With ECMLink you will spend less and it will be much more user friendly.

With AEM EMS you will spend more, have more tuning control but wont be user friendly, especially if you have never tuned.

Both will meet your goal, plus more.

I would go with ECMLink as their forum is very helpful, and because the guys who run ECMLink started it specifically for DSMs so they know our ECU pretty well." - EagleTSIawd

He said it best, I think the best thing to do is to specifically look at what you need from your tuning software and compare features on each respective website. Just know that ECM Link is an extremely capable software.

Well I'm not doubting it's capabilities, just asking if I could buy the EMS for cheaper. Would it be smarter to buy because eventually this Garrett gt4202 will find its way on my car backed by nitrous and a built motor.

I'm trying to give my self as much growing room for the $ as I can haha

If you go with aem then make sure you use the correct disc as the stock one has issues with the aem ecu

Good to know the only reason I even brought this up is I was told by a long time dsm guy to go with the ems that it's a way better system said that ecmlink is great to just that the ems is a more capable system and a car is only as good as the tune

Well by default I think AEM comes out on top, its obviously in the higher end of the spectrum when it comes to tuning ANY car. But it is worth noting that you are pretty much 99.99% guaranteed to not even come close to maxing out DSMLink. Pretty sure there are multiple cars in the 8s and 9s using link, probably even faster.

Sweet thanks for the advice I'll take that into conideration

Yes, there are cars making 1000 hp with ecm link. What you got to understand though is that a lot of those cars don't have the same version of the software the normal public can get. They have the VIP versions that allowes them not to retard timing because of engine noise and stuff like that. ;)

Yea that is a long term goal for me is to approach 1000hp I've been collecting parts but it sounds like link is always the way to go unless ur a sponsored race car driver with a near unlimited budget haha

depends on whether you want to tune yourself if you know how to or a easier alternative for those who don't or want to tinker themselves aka me. So link It was, and always will be.
