AEM AEM EMS, No IAC, how to stabilize Idle

I have been working on my cold starts, idle, and driveability on my car during the cold season in Cali. I currently do not have and IAC, I have completly removed the wiring for this so plugging it back in is not an option.

So my idle will bounce all over the place and it seems that all of the settings for idle will not do anything. I have also tweaked the BISS to get the idle within spec once the car is fully warmed up.

Any advice on how to get the idle to stabilize would be awesome. I have seen tons of videos of cars with no IAC that can idle correctly, I just need some pointers on where to make that happen.

Well right now it is about 1400, I have been playing with the BISS and all of the tuning. Before I had it at about 1100rpm however I could not cold start the car unless I was on the gas. With the high idle I can almost start the car with throttle. So I still have some issues to work out, but it is getting there.

hey can you post up pic of your of a screen shots? also i have 272.. and i just got my cams to idle decent.... pulls 15inhg doesnt die with ac/ power steering @ max. im not too familier on how your maps look compared to the evo 8 maps but if there anything similare 1st advance the time to about 17-19 in the idle load rpm areas on the main map. i no this is non dsm website but hey it mite work or at lease set you in the right path! running with AEM, car won't idle when Hot - Club Lexus Forums

AEM EMS has stepper motor control function used to wire in the ISC. Why would U not use it?

I blocked mine off for a while and eventually put it back on. If you don't want to wire it up correctly you can try this...

Warm the car up. Screw the biss all the way in. Then use the Idle switch to set the idle at 1000 and lock down the jam nut. It worked decently on my car. I like the 750 "lopey" idle with the 272 cams though.

one thing i've found that makes a car w/out an iac idle is say in your fuel and spark maps you have your lowest rpm at what you want it to idle at...for this lets say its 1000 for argument sake, make a column in both fuel and spark at like 900 and one at 1000 then go upward in your range. at 900 give it a bit more fuel or less depending on what it needs to not stall and give it more spark advance at that lower rpm, the lower spark advance and the less / more fuel in that situation will allow the car to make more power and stop from stalling itself. Its worked on tons of cars i've tuned w/out IAC's. I also find that 2-3 degrees more timing at that lower RPM is more than enough to stop it from stalling. This is what my spark table looks like, runs 1600cc injectors with c16 and doesn't stall so might be a decent starting point for another car too
