I'm looking to purchase a 1st generation Eagle Talon TSi AWD as a daily driver but this would be my first dsm. Ive always gone with GM V8's in the past but have decided to change things up. I dont have much to spend at the moment and have narrowed it down to two different talons but wanted some advice on which would be better from somebody with some experience with them.

The first option is cheaper but isnt running properly. The second runs "perfect" but has been used as a track/cruising car. Both cars are moddified 1990 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. I think can get the first one for much lower than asking price but dont know if the difference in price would even be worth it. Any input is aprreciated, sorry for the long post.

Option 1: Asking $3000, 126k on body, bottom end and transmission are unknown
Problems: The E-brake is broken(common on ny cars), and he says it needs a tune because it bogs at mid-range when the throttle is wide open. The top end and clutch were done by the previous owner with no reciept.

Option 2: Asking $3500, 114k original miles, comes with original parts plus many extras, more mods than what are listed he just doesnt remember all of them.

Well, if going with the two you have listed, the 2nd one IMO would be a little better. First off, what are YOUR plans for the car? Idk man. It is a toss up between the two. What limits you to only these two cars?

I think you would be almost better off buying a mostly stock 1G DSM that is unmolested, runs good, no rust, well maintained, etc. for the price.

How about some pics of the two DSMs?

I want a fun and fast daily driver, that I will eventually use as a track car when I purchase something newer/nicer down the road to replace it. These were the best two options I found for the condition they were in at that price. Alot of dsm's for sale around me are either half apart and not running or in terrible condition.

First 4 photos are Option 1. Second 4 photos are Option 2.

I don't see why the second one would not be recommended as a daily driver. Also I wouldn't consider either to be highly modified... Are they using the Maf/t to tune? I agree with waiting to find a more stock one. I would rather pay these prices for a stock one and less for one of these

What prices would you think are reasonable for these? What would a ballpark figure be to take a stock talon to somewhere similar to these?

The second one looks to be in a little bit better shape. Look at the first one. The BOV recir. hose is like...well poorly done I guess. Just loops up around everything. The second one also has a little less miles on it.

I would still try looking for a stock 1G DSM. But out of the two, the 2nd one seems to be the better deal with the information/specs/mods you have provided IMO.

The prices seem ok from the amount of money invested into parts that each of these have.
