if I were using a multimeter to adjust my TPS, do I NEED the special wiring harness?

does the free version of dsmlink show your your throttle postion and / or voltage?

NOt sure of the free version. Didnt know they had a free link... But yes, in link v3 the tps voltage is displayed as well as the idle switch(1 or 0)

When I adjusted mine I just used some leads with the gator clamps and adjusted it to the lowest ohms value I could get. Hope that helps.

I know it is easy to pirate the second gen version. Sounds like ecmlink might have a problem.

I have done this WAY too many times.....

Get the car to operating temperature
then kill the car and just have the key on.
set your multimeter to DC volts
probe the signal wire with your positive lead
attach your negative lead to a common ground

specifiction is between .48-.52 volts

VEHICLE MUST BE AT OPERATING TEMPERATURE!!!
ive made this mistake multiple time..

GOOD LUCK
