I never really started reading about Switching to e85 fuel untill after i jut read a thread about someone adding e85 to his tank when he fills up. I didn' realize mixing pump and e85 was ok to do. What all needs to be done to just switch over to e85? Doesn't seem like there is much you have to do besides makong a few adjustments in dsmlink.

Im on empty right now in my fuel tank, so if I chose to fill up tonight with e85, would I make it home? Lol. I don't have my laptop in my car, and I am at work.

You would probably run like shit..But you could probably get it home and retune when you get home..I don't think you would cause any damage..You might runa little lean but if you limp home you should be alright..Unless someone else thinks you should not attempt it at all..

e85 burns faster than regular pump gas. i have an STi tuned for e85... for the first 2 months it was great, i love the power it gives you, but you only get 70% of your fuel economy when switching. also that there are very few station that have e85 (luckily i live 1 1/2 miles from sheetz) so finding stations becomes a PITA.

to run e85 (atleast on an STi, not sure what supporting mods you need for a dsm) you need atleast a 255 fuel pump, atleast 1000cc injectors and a tune. should be pretty similar for a dsm though.

I have a station right down the street. Where e85 is cheaper than regular gas. So to me it's not a big deal. The only thing im wotried about is getting home. I will probably wait and make the adjustments at the gas station with my laptop so I don't run into major problems.

Good choice, better safe then sorry.

You wont be able to run too much boost, though.

He has enough fuel mods to run e85, as I posted before..But the question is will he be able to limp home after filling her up from the station with no tune..

Why wouldnt he just get a tank and put some in it, and bring it to his house?

Option #1. Take laptop to station, fill, change injector comp, go from there.

Option #2. Put in E85 untuned and limp it home. The car will compensate with trims and get it close.

FWIW my 03 Cavalier LS Sport (not flex) gets e85 every once in a while to keep things clean. No issues. Car actually runs better afterwards haha.

I really want to run e85 especially since I am getting 2150cc's. My issue is the gas tank rotting to hell. I am trying to save up for a frontline fab tank but funds are tight :( Do you guys have a lot of issues with corrosion?
