My questions is will the act 2100 clutch with street disk hold up in my 95 gsx with 400+ awhp?

Anyone here use or know anything about the act 2900 with street disk?
Youd have a strong left leg...
... it's that bad? Well I read a couple of other threads about the 2600 with street disk and it seems that it would be able to do the job.The street disks on those ACT 2600 I've heard the like springs stick out more have been giving people trouble.
The springs i'm talking about look like coils, around the disk. I think last time I saw, they were 6.
Fidanza, naw. It's light weight, but it won't last long either.
Of course I saw all the clutch threads but none answered my question concerning the power that I hope to put down so how about you stfu and stop wasting space in my thread. Thank you ma'am.
Yes it will for the HP.. But not the torque
For 400 I'd step up to the 2900 instead of the 2600...
Well, a 400 WHP 2G is probably around 350 ft/lbs TQ, so why would you recommend such a large pressure plate? IIRC, the 2900 is rated at 600 ft/lbs of torque.
The 2600 plate and street disk will be just fine. Hell, a 2100 will even still hold up to that power - it did for me. The only problem with the 2100 would be that it's at it's peak capability. It would be a safer bet to get the 2600 and have a little room to play.
The Fidanza 4.3 clutch kit would be a good option as well.
I don't understand where this sudden wave of clutch misconceptions came from. Why the hell does everyone feel the need to run a damn 2900 PP? 50% of the people running it probably doesn't need anything that big, and 80% of the people they are recommending them for, don't need it either.
If you're burning up street disk's, then try a different material disk. More pressure plate will cause your street disk to wear just as excessive and in many cases, it causes uneven wear and warping. You have to match your disk to your pressure plate, and the assembly has to match your torque output. You don't install a 2900 and 6-puck on your stock 2G, just because you figure you'll never need to upgrade it ever again - it doesn't work that way.
To the thread starter: The 2600 and street disk will be just just fine if you're at 340+ ft/lbs torque.
