eBay Motors: ACT 2100 HD CLUTCH KIT ECLIPSE TALON DSM MB1-HDSS (item 180165939836 end time Jan-01-08 04:25:56 PST)

I will be putting on an Evo III 16G within a week and my clutch is already slipping. SO time for the upgrade. And I don't believe I will be going with a much bigger turbo then that if any so I assume that this will be plenty as I have read in many other threads. My question is is this going to have everything I need? Only looking through ebay ### if I can save a dollar here or there I need to no disrespect to any of the vendors on here.

If you are going to use your stock flywheel this is everything you need.

Pressure Plate
Clutch Disk
Throw out Bearing
Centering tool

Looks like that kit comes with all of that.

That's what I was looking to hear. My clutch is nearly done and slipping terrible and just wanted to make sure. Kinda new as far as the tranny goes never really messed with one before. Guess it is going to be one big learning experience when we take out the old and put in the new. Any tips when doing this?

Yes, the clutch kit comes with everything that you need to replace the clutch. There are other parts, like rear main oil seal, axle seals and OEM throw-out bearing that you may want to look at while you are replacing the clutch. Resurface the flywheel, and inspect the fork, ball and slave cyl. and replace if needed.

If you're doing a clutch job, I would suggest getting more parts than this kit includes. The only things from the kit I'd use is the clutch disc, pressure plate, and clutch alignment tool.

I would get an OEM throw out bearing (as the ACT ones have been prone to failing). They are proven time and time again. Also, it's highly recommended to get a new master and slave cylinder (or at least the slave). You should also look at the clutch fork, throw out bearing clip, fulcrum ball, and the boot the clutch fork goes through and make sure they're in good condition. If you have any doubts, replace them (or you may have to drop the tranny again when one of these fails). You could also look into getting a SS clutch line that goes from the slave and connects to the hard line from the master (only about $27 or so).

That may be true, but he doesn't plan on going bigger than the Evo III 16g, and he's a FWD car. I know some people on here don't like the idea of putting a 2600 in a FWD 7 bolt because of the crankwalk issue (which is overrated). But there's no proof (at least that I've seen) that it either does or doesn't cause it. With that and it being a lighter pedal than the 2600 (especially if the car is a daily driver), I would think the 2100 would be fine.

Very true. My car used to be fwd. I started with ACT2100 and moved on to 2600 very quick. The car was still daily driven, but my left calf was much bigger than the right one.

With reading through this forum and seeing that the 2600 "might" give me the dreaded crankwalk is kind of what scared me away from it. This car is my dd as much as it can be LOL. I understand its overrated but it just scares the ba-jesus out of me. Plus I like walking in a straight line more then a circle. What could you compare the 2100 and 2600 pedal pressure to it's kind of hard to understand it when you say a percentage you know what I mean?

I've never driven a car with a 2600 but the 2100 is a just a little bit harder than stock.

I bought mine for 350 i think out the door with shipping, came in yesterday being installed today. pm if you wanna know where

Just bought the clutch $340 with Shipping so SWEET! Anyways should be in hopefully by Weds. can't wait. The car broke down on the highway last night 2 miles from home at Midnight. $150 later and its in my driveway. What a rip off.

I love the ACT 2100. I have that matted to a fidanza 8 lb flywheel and it's a really nice combination. The clutch has never slipped on me. I have a big 16g turbo around 16 psi with 272 cams and full turbo back exhaust. Making some pretty good power. I am fwd and most likely you won't be doing much launching as traction will be non existent, so the 2100 I think should be a great choice for you.

Wow. I sold two brand new ACT2100 Street Disc kits on eBay a while back. One went for $212.50 and the other went for $225. I wish I had gotten $340 for each of them and made my buyer as happy you are.
