Lots of people have that combo but you don't need it on a stock engine. As long as your stock pressure plate isn't really weak your fine.

well my clutch was about to go so i wanted something that would last so i decided to get that

Make sure your clutch is really gone. It might just need adjusted. Search the forum or read your manual for more info.

Mine was slipping, and I knew I wanted to upgrade eventually, so I got that exact same combo and then had it installed. I had them keep the old parts, and the stock clutch still had more than half its life left - the clutch just needed to be adjusted. This was before I knew much about my car, but it could save you $400 plus install (which cost me a few hundred more).

If you plan on upgrading, and you have the cash, maybe you can do what I did. In hindsight, I don't regret it, because I'd need a new clutch with my 350hp goal.

If you're strapped for cash and don't need the beefier clutch right now, definitely check out adjustment first.

Something to keep in mind.

well i already pircashed the cluch flywheel combo and i am doing an engine swap and i had extra money so i thought i would get it done and over with because in the lifetime of my having the car i figured i would have to change it

How much of a difference is htere really between the 2100 and the 2600?

It depends on which clutch disc you use, but with the street disc a 2100 plate holds up to 322 ft/lbs of torque and the 2600 with the same disc holds 400 ft/lbs. The street disc is what you want to use unless you use your car strictly for racing. The 6-puck disc holds a whole lot more torque (rated to 412 with a 2100 plate) since the pressure from the pressure plate is on a smaller area, but it engages sharply and is a b*tch to drive in traffic. Also note that the 2100 plate will give you only a slightly stiffer clutch pedal where a 2600 will make your left leg look like Gov. Arnold's.

I just bought a 2100 kit the other day, and I'm waiting for warm weather to install it. My stocker slips and burns in 3rd, 4th and 5th anytime I go over 10psi. That has to be one of the worst smells ever.:barf:

Man oh man the 2600's are expensive for the street discs :( Looks like i'll be doing a little more saving LOL.

Everyone I know who's had a 2100 wishes they had a 2600 or has already upgraded. Unless your a pansy you get used to the pedel feel, and it's only kind of bad in a 1G, 2G's not so much.

Oh yeah, don't waste your money on the Xact flywheel, just get the stock one machined and stepped and it's good for mid 11's.
