k so when i bought my car the AC wasn't working. come to find out the belt wasn't even on there. so when putting a new belt on to see if it even would work. i noticed that the tentioner pulley was rubbing on my timing cover. is this common or is something wrong??

I tried a bunch of different was the pulley could be mounted, maybe it could be on wrong. but looking at the pics in my repair manuel it was right. so to remedy the problem i just put the dust sheild on the inside(pics to come).

will this cause any problems later on?? been to lazy to actually put it back in tho so when i do get around to it ill make sure the pulleys line up right.

Do you really even need the AC? Depending on how long the belt has been removed, the compressor could be seized. Could end up being more trouble than it's worth. I know mine was. Mine didn't have a belt on it either when I bought it. Compressor turned out to be seized, and I've just been removing AC parts ever since.

mine was doing that i took off the tensioner and the pulley was loose, tightened it up used a little lock tite and good to go, just make sure that the idler pulley itself isnt garbage a new one dont cost too much

the pulley is good (spins freely), but there is rust all over the belt surface of it and the compressor pulley, im just gonna pull it all prob.

ill just have to deal with a 2.5-45 AC (2 windows down 1 sunroof popped goin 45):p

also makes a nice weightloss program.
