hey guys, just did a timing belt and water pump job on my 95 gsx, everything went smoothly and the car runs great

i have yet to install the AC bracket and belt back on because it was a pain in the butt getting it out and its even harder to get it back in,, im reaching down behind the motor and the intake manifold to try and do this and i have cam and crank sensor clips and everything in the way it seems -- ive got big arms so its a tight squeez,, anyways my question is does anyone have a trick or two up their sleeve that would make this job any simpler??

appreciate the help in advance

My only problems when doing this belt is that the belt sometimes gets stuck in between the AC pulley and the car sidewall. I guess if it gets bad enough you can lower the engine a bit with the engine side mount off but that may be more time then needed. I usually twist the belt and slide it in there widthwise to get it on the AC pulley. I then get it on the crank pulley. Then I grab the belt tensioner, if not already bolted up and get its idler pulley on the belt first and THEN bolt the tensioner pulley bracket onto the engine. I get both bolts snug (almost tight) and adjust my belt accordingly. Then, I tighten the bracket fully.

Good luck

Getting the A/C Tensioner/Pulley is the hardest part of the problem...

Helps if you have a friend underneath the car to kinda hold the pulley while you try and squeeze your hand to thread in the two bolts holding it.

After that its just slipping on the belt and putting tension on the arm

That's the one part of a t-belt job that I hate. Do what jjrock5 suggested and remove the motor mount if you've already re-installed it. Then lower that side of the engine and try installing the bottom bolt first from underneath the car. If that doesn't work then try raising the engine and try installing the top bolt first from above. For me it's easier to install the bottom pivot bolt first from underneath. Then from above you can pivot the bracket front to back until you find the hole for the top bolt.
