Like it says my 1990 laser RS FWD NT A/T is stalling while in drive. It got reeeeeal bad after it was painted but recently my dad and I replaced the 75 amp alternator for a 90 amp unit and replaced to O2 sensor and it got quite a bit better. The car has done this since I bought it about 3 years ago the person I bought it from had put a new fuel tank/ pump, and a turbo throttle body on it. We put the right throttle body on it after we figured out that it was wrong. It idles at 500-600 rpms. We replaced all or most of the vacuum lines with new ones, so it shouldn't have any vacuum leaks. My tech school teacher adjusted the throttle screw to no change, and he really knows his stuff. I think that's it, any thoughts?

Have you checked the FPR. Also it could be a bad torque converter or trans related. I had an issues like yours when I got my first DSM. It was a 93 eclipse 2.0 NT auto. When I put it in any gear it would stall. I ahd to replace the torque converter and had the trans rebuilt and it fixed the stalling in gear issue. You could also try pulling the valve body off the trans and tearing it apart for a nice good cleaning and a new filter.

i had water in my idle sensor and throttle position sensor needed replaced when my car was stalling in gear I think it was only in reverse though idk if u have that problem as well

it's tried to stall in reverse before but i just raised the RPMs and drove on. we had the throttle body rebuilt so I don't think thats the problem

Agreed....it sounds like a bad torque converter. And also you should change trans fluid.
