Hello, My car has suddenly started making a weird sound while driving. It's a knocking or rattling sound that gets faster when I speed up and slower as I slow down. More specifically, I am driving the car and when I push the clutch in, the sound starts. When I place it in gear and accelerate, the sound seems to go away or at least is quieter. Sometimes I hear the sound while parked, and sounds like in the rear end somewhere. I was able to drive it up onto some blocks to look underneath, and looks like the left rear axle has some play to it. Whatever it is doesn't seem to affect how it drives or feels on the road - just the annoying sound. It is a '99 Eclipse GSX. What do you guys think might be the problem? Thanks.
