Ok, Are the FACTORY piston FORGED? or not?




I am thinking about doing an engine rebuild.

And I was wondering what was the ADVANATGES to have FORGED PISTONS.

forged pistons are better because they are alot stronger they mostly good for nitrouse or big boost where a stock piston may shatter

anyways, as said before FORGED PISTONS can resist heat and high COMPRESSION caused from alot of BOOST, another THING to look into is forged RODS

They're cheaper and easier to make in small quantity as opposed to cast pistons. After-market companies don't crank them out _only_ because they're "better" (some aspects are), but they're not set up to tool the molds and cast up batches of a few hundred. They can have a thousand slugs hammered out, then cut pistons to fit a broad range of cars from those forgings- especially in these days of automated machine shops -for much less than making the dies for cast DSM pistons.

you know I have never onced told someone to use the search button or anything like that but damn. This a huge and very broad subject/product man just hit up google type in je pistion for dsms or somthing along that line and you will get over a million sites with them. I hate being a nice guy somtimes .

500$ for 4 Forged pistons is quite steep for my likings.
