Well I hope to have it running soon but I work 20+ hours a week and I am also a full time nursing student so my free time is kinda limited. I need to order some fittings for the fuel system and I am getting the oem sending unit welded up this week. There is just a lot of nagging odds and ends to take care of.

For sure man know all about it. Good luck Once you get it fired up you'll forget about all that stuff.

Yeah I bet man, I have always loved the silver trimmed 1ga Talon's. Are you gonna do the Dyno day on that Friday and autocross it on Saturday?

Haha ok well I'll be there to get it on video man and good pics too. If I get to bring my 1g out there I'll do the Dyno and the auto cross and the track on Sunday. Damn man I already can't wait! =)

Yeah me too! Especially since I'll be getting out of the marines here soon and moving to Houston TX, I wont be able to attend MOD in cypress CA. So that makes the shootout the only vacation for the year which is great.

Just gotta figure out how I'm going to bring both cars out there. Any ideas? I dint have a truck or trailer and don't know anyone with them either.

My friend that went this year with me will be driving his talon out there again, ^^so that's out of the question.

Plus if it brakes I would like to still be able to get it all the way back home

Man, i can't wait to see (And hear) this thing running, be it street or track, should be impressive

One question i have (do not take this wroing like i'm ain any way bashing or anything I'm just curiouse)and i don't mean i want you to break down and itemize everything but where on earth does 42-45k go in the build? I see you said 12k on trans??? So that's say 30k left, lets say, another 2500 in CV's and driveshaft.. what kinda stuff was done to the engine that makes it soak up the rmaining 28k?

Again, please don't take it as me being in anyway disrespectfull or nit-picking or even like i'm calling you out because i'm not and i know money can be soaked up fast by a lot of things, I am really just curiouse about what's going on as far as stuff i may have never even heard of or things that may be oneof a kind or "exotic" as far as materials choice or not being something you can just order or pay some one to provide in means of a service like porting etc.. just blew my mind to see such a high figure.. I thught about 25-30k would build the most extreme exotci DSM, clearly i'm wrong LOL

My biggest question is this..what was the part in the first set of pics that had a braided line next to it and was black with a round hole in the main body of it? was that a hydraulic slave that goes inside the bell housing like jeep cherokees and some other cars use?? I'm always looking for a better system of actuation on the clutch, altohugh after fixing my almost completel broken in half pedal i'm pretty happy with what i've got (but i got nothing like anything on your car, well maybe our lug nuts LOL

well when you are talking about a ton of parts money adds up fast. $5500 for the clutch, another $6200 for the trans that right there is $11700 less tax, $2200 for the aem ems with wideband, $3500 for the motor, $3000 fr the head another almost $2000 for the cams, $2200 for the turbo, about $4000 in axles another $800 for the driveshaft, $2000 for the transfer case starting to get the idea LOL.

Thats the hydraulic release bearing, you have the right ide with the jeep.

This just made me realize that I am indeed a very sick man.

I may have missed it, but what clutch is it you're running? Dogbox I'm assuming? Any other info? I'm curious. I'm sending my car up to a friend to do the 8.8 swap, 10pt cage, custom harness, and a parachute mount. So extending my thoughts/knowledge as you're going through it!

Trans is a shep built dogbox and the clutch is a tilton carbon. What info would you like as I m happy to provide whatever it is you would like to know.

I was just about to come in and edit my post as I guess somehow missed your mod list. I'm going to PM you so we're not cluttering up your thread! :thumb:
