Im building an engine as we speak. I have it on the stand and the setup includes .020 over ross pistons,1g rods, standard size clevite bearings, and 1g crankshaft. I got my block decked, bored, honed, polished crankshaft, and roatating assembly balanced. What is a good end gap clearance for the ross rings, and also when im checking my crankshaft endplay what are the specs on that? Also I need piston to wall clearance specs, and main bearing clearance specs. I have a manual but I was told to watch out for miss-prints on the haynes and chilton. so i'm double checking. please help I dont want to mess this up. thankyou!

Ring end gap and PTW should be on the spec sheet that came with the Ross Pistons

Connecting Rod/Main Bearing
.02-.05mm

Crank Endplay
.05-.018mm

hey thankyou,so I believe it said with boosted application .006mm would that sound about right?

Also, when checking ring end gap,and piston to wall clearance I just lube the cylinder with non detergent, and push the ring into the cylinder a bit,and then push it down with an old piston correct?

Ok so I can just use 30 weight for this? I read that your not suppose to use an oil with a detergent.

Thankyou bogus,I washed my block and crank and used a gun brush. Now, Is it ok to use a scotch brite pad on my cylinders to wash? I was going to double wash it.
