Oh man... 1100HP!

Was browsing through some of the other vids of it, and the 850HP GT-R ran like a 10.53.

LOL

Was it just me or did the Porsche vs GT-R video show the GT-R smoking on the driver's side wheel? Caliper sticking or something?
I can't believe the jump the Porsche got and still lost by a ton. WTF

seems pretty cool.

Something is definitely wrong with the GTR.

Damn i was thinking there was something wrong with the evo. 1100hp and a 9.7? Thats terribad. Whats with the evo's putting down big power but low times? Super inflated dyno numbers or what.

Its probably tuned for more top end then the quarter mile.

Yep, setting something up to run the standing mile is a wee bit different than pure drag racing, there is a lot more distance and mph that you're making the car go. Often times the stock transmission on many vehicles won't have the proper gearing capabilities to take them to their full potential in the mile, needing custom gear ratios/etc.

I've been subscribed to these guys on YouTube for awhile and that's all anyone ever says in comments, but a standing mile car is not set up the same as a 1/4 mile car at all, especially one this all out.

Sick stuff. That EVO sounded amazing. I don't know about you but I wouldn't want to be running any drag race tire at 180-200 mph. What's wrong with the GTR is that it sounds like a total pile of garbage. Nissan needs to work on getting rid of that terrible sound that all of their 6 cylinder cars make(with the exception of the RB), including the Infiniti cars.ROFL

Wow I think the GTR sounds awsome. Way better than the N/A v6's Nissan has.

I wonder what kinda gearing they put on that EVO? I know that Norris Designs has a few Evo's that run the mile like this also.

This evo spends it's life running 200.4 miles per hr in the mile and runs high tens in the 1/4 mile. With enough hp I'm wondering if these guys are doing this with stock gearing?

Click on the top video I love this one:

Norris Designs  Nissan, Mitsubishi and Subaru Tuners - +44 1225 700748

This Evo running an M5 in the mile I guess ran out of gearing. I think the advertised 636 hp is a lie! I think he should have ran away from the M5 from the start.

This EVO here is a pure monster in the mile racing I believe a Suzuki GSXR 1000. Again how they do it would be nice to know. Power or gearing?

and another against a Porsche Ruff GT Impressive:

Thats what i noticed, and the mile tap speed was slower than the 1/4mile tap speed, so SOMETHING was going wrong!

Also they have an event like these in the Houston area every year called the Texas Mile!

They run singles though to see who posts the highest MPH.They don't drag race each other as far as I know.

This is an annual event which occurs in Russia. I love this vid as you will see that the lexan window also flies off the evo as it gets faster going towards the mile. This is a beast of an event as they have many exotics compete against each other in the 1/4 mile to mile. Enjoy:

HOLY SHIT! That EVO sounded ridiculously awesome. 341km/h = 212mph!! Jesus that's fast in 23 seconds. Imagine the beating those pistons are taking for that 1 mile run. :hellyeah:
