So I'm in the process of re-routing/re-doing my vacuum lines in my 1999 gs-t after doing a rebuild, I'm going crazy because my throttle body does not have a "P" vac port, no evap solenoid, no evap canister! And no vacuum diagram I have found explains this, I have the factory manual, every diagram in there has the "P" port on the throttle body, and an evap canister that is supposed to be under the battery. My car was all stock before I took it apart, so I know it was never there, plus there are vacuum lines on the diagram that do not exist on my car! WTF! I'm literally going nuts, I figured I could re-construct the vacuum lines from the diagram, apparently I was wrong. Somebody please help ASAP, this is driving me crazy!!!! A link the correct diagram would be perfect!

A quick look through the sites VFAQ Tech Articles and you would have found the diagrams you needed. If you don't have a charcoal canister under the battery tray on the passenger side then the previous owner removed it or you did, you just don't remember doing it?

VFAQ: 1g/2g Vacuum Line Routing

No definitely not removed, that link does me no good, there is no "P" on the throttle body, the letter is stamped on it, there is a hole there, but no nipple, and the hole goes nowhere, I have found a couple things on the internet from people with the same problem, it seems like it is a 98-99 california thing, but I could not find any answers. The plastic tee that is supposed to go to the canister and back to the fuel tank only has the fuel tank fitting and no place for the canister to even connect. I'm pulling my f**king hair out right now trying to figure it out! The most frusterating part is I bought the factory service manual and it is not in there! I'm going to call mitsu tomorrow, but I dont they can help me, they are all morons. These are the facts: definitely NO evap canister under the battery, definitely no "P" port on the throttle body, definitely no vacuum diagram that matches my car that I have found yet.

here are pics of TB and the 90/tee that is supposed to have an attachment to go to the evap canister

There is no diagram under the hood, I just checked. I must be cursed with the rarest eclipse on the planet!

The charcoal canister was the same on DSM's produced between July 1, 1997 to April 3rd, 1999. If you give me your cars VIN I can look it up in ASA and be 100% certain... its up to you though.
Part number for the canister itself is MR258310
Part number for the canister bracket is MR126606
Heres an up close shot of the sticker that should have been on the bottom of your hood.

Thank you lilbro, I'm no idiot, there was def never a canister in my engine compartment, nor a connection for the "P" port on the TB, I wish there was a diagram under my hood, but there is not. I have read online that my canister is located near the gas tank, but this does not help me, I need the under hood diagram. My vin is 4A3AK54FXXE009454 1999 ECLIPSE GST, pretty sure it is a california car, and I will be smoging it, so I cant do a vacuum delete.I appreciate everyone's insight, but what I am really looking for is the correct diagram or at least some detailed photos.

Maybe it has something to do with OBD-2, since 98-99 are the only years that are OBD-2

OBDII started in '95 but now you've got me wondering about the location of that charcoal canister. I'm looking in ASA (with your VIN) and it isn't showing the canister under the battery, its showing it back by the gas tank like you said. Here's a diagram from ASA, now I'm on a hunt for a '99 vacuum diagram since the one my Mitsu manual can't be correct.

I just found this thread that basically verify's what ASA is showing in that picture... http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/310470-resolved-what-charcoal-canister.html

Sweet, thanks bro, I really appreciate your help, any info would be great! its like the long lost vac diagram! I'm goin to sleep, enough stress for today, I'll try again tomorrow

Someone has definantly removed your emission related stuff. Either that, or your car is J-spec (from japan LOL) that was their thing, no egr, or emissions. But man, I PROMISE your car was built in NORMAL, IL. Theres a few ways you can go about this, I've seen people who buy cars without emissions, completely go through and restore it, back to factory emission spec's. OR be smart about it, and not do that, some guys will run a silicon hose just long enough to fit on each of those remaining nipples just make a U. Then Cap off that 90* fitting, but imho i would not cap it off, i would run a hose down further (as it comes from your fuel tank, capping it could cause unwanted tank pressure) Just my .02 worth, from what i've gathered out of your OP and later posts.

Well after looking around and searching I finally came up with a '99 CA DSM vacuum line routing diagram. All of the charcoal canister stuff is in the back of the car, off of the gas tank.

FYI diamondstar, car def had all emissions, it passed california smog, it has egr, and all other emissions related parts. I also know that my car was not built IN california, but FOR california emissions, so thanks but no thanks. Thanks a lot gofer for that diagram, it helps a lot!

I know I'm reviving a month old thread here but this is what I've found. The reason the '98's and '99's do not have a P line is because it was moved directly on the intake manifold. I have some pictures here.

This is a picture of my '98 intake manifold on top, and a picture of the same exact area on a '97 Intake manifold

In these pictures the '98 Throttle body is the top and the '97 is the bottom which is installed on the car

basically Mitsubishi must have moved the "P" line off of the throttle body and onto the intake manifold

EDIT: I also realize my BISS Screw is buried, I have a boost leak and haven't done a BLT yet

For people viewing this thread in the future: Mitsubishi has moved the 2g charcoal canister (evap emission canister) around depending on the year and whether it's a turbo/NT, FWD/AWD, 2.0/2.4, ABS/noABS (presumably due to the ABS pump location) model. All these cases have shown up in Mitsubishi's real factory manuals (ones published by Mitsubishi). Aftermarket manuals show it, often incorrectly, all over the place or even always in the same place. Locations vary from under the battery, to under the LF headlight, to next to the gas tank, to inside the gas tank. For added confusion Mitsubishi sometimes doesn't even follow their own manual, especially for 98 and 99 years.

As far as the P line, it has been moved to the intake manifold on my 99 GST also - see vacuum hose routing diagram attachment.
