You best bet is to get a regular racing radiator such as like CXracing then get a high performance trans cooler. It will make things simpler to separate

I looked into this a bit when my car was an A/T and never upgraded my radiator because I was planning on going to a M/T. I decided there were two ways to go about doing this the right way, the first option was to get a aluminum rad. and then weld in provisions for the A/T cooler, the second was going with an aluminum rad. and then getting a seperate trans. cooler.

Here are a few threads about the subject.
A radiator is a radiator..It does not matter if it's for an auto or not...
I wish that was the case Bud, but its not. The A/T radiator has provisions in it to run coolant through the A/T oil cooler and no aluminum aftermarket radiator includes them for the A/T DSM'rs.

I pulled an auto trans cooler off a N/T Spyder, it was mounted in the driver opening on the bumper. Are the turbos different?

Chris, if its a N/T Spyder then yes the turbos are different because the N/T Spyder doesn't have a turbo to begin with. ROFL

I'll go look under my cars when it stops raining but my automatic turbo spyder has a separate transmission cooler which I'm almost certain has no provision to tie into the radiator. I haven't spent a lot of time under my 1g automatic but I think that it may have a different radiator than 1g manual cars. Like I said I'll verify when it stops raining.

Even if for some reason I'm wrong about 2g automatic radiators it shouldn't matter because long before you actually need a performance radiator you will definitely need a high performance transmission cooler so you might as well go ahead with that.

On my 2GA N/T it has the cooler inside the radiator. Ive always seen that aftermarket coolers for oil and trans do the job alot better than a trans/coolant radiator

On your 99, it has a separate tranny cooler, you can use any radiator you want.

Weird but mine doesn't have that..Either a previous owner removed the lines or they just went to an upgraded oil cooler for the tranny..Would that remove the lines for coolant to run through the tranny oil cooler?

I just did a radiator swap, and only had two lines to remove, the upper and lower radiator pipes..

My 2g radiator has provisions for a trans cooler built into the bottom after thinking about it.

Corey, you got me on that one!
