No. The 420a is completely different.

Define "engine blown" what happened?

What would I have to do to make it fit?
Its the same amount of work as an engine swap in any chassis. Huge amount of fab work and none of the electronics are the same. Do not consider this. 420a car and spyder are essentially two unrelated cars. Ignore the fact they look the same from the exterior.

I was a dumb 16 year old and ignored the low oil light and so not sure exactly what the mechanic said but he either said seized or blown and wasn’t worth the fix
The least expensive option is to find a used 420a motor. Problem is that chassis is 26 years old minimum. Not many left.

There is also a dodge neon engine the seller has that’s a 2.0 I don’t know all the details about it but do you think that could work?

Yeah. I can’t find one for the life of me

The '95-'99 2.0 Neons use the same block as our cars. However, the head is set up reverse to ours. We have the exhaust in the front and intake on the rear, where the Neons have the intake on the front and exhaust on the back. If the head on your engine can be salvaged, then swap your head, intake manifold, and exhaust manifold onto the other block and you should be good. You may have to swap some sensors, depending on the year car the Neon engine came out, since there were some revisions throughout the years.
