Hello all. I have a highly modified 99 Eclipse GST that I did not modify or know little about. I bought the car for my son already modified to enjoy and learn from. He enjoyed it but has showed no interest in learning about it. Now it starts and dies and I do not know what is wrong with it. Modifications I am aware of:

Engine cylinders are bored .20 over.
Upgraded aftermarket turbo and inter-cooler
Higher CFM injectors
Aftermarket blow-off valve and waste-gate
Larger exhaust
Aftermarket fuel pressure regulator
APEXi S-AFC2 Super Airflow Converter installed
Wide-band O2 sensor installed

Parts I have changed:

Alternator
Battery
MAF Sensor
MAP Sensor
Spark plugs
Spark plug wires

The APEXi S-AFC2 doesn't seem to be working properly. When you turn the ignition to run the know lights up, but the screen does not. I fear the ECU might be messed up causing my issues

Any suggestions? If there are any members that are here in San Antonio willing to help out, I am willing to pay for the assistance.

Thanks in advance!

if the APEXi S-AFC2 and ecu took a crap i would highly recommend getting dsmlink. you can pull the ecu and look for bad caps and other things that look out of place. From what you are saying i would def look into the APEXi S-AFC2 and see why it's not operating correctly.

theres quite a few places out there that will check your ecm and probably fix it if it is broke and have it back to you in a day or two...check them out if you can verify that its bad. have you tried disconnecting the s-afc and started it without?

Check all you pipes from the turbo to the IC , and over to the throttle body elbow. I just had a similar symptom, and it turned out that my FMIC intake pipe clamp broke an the pipe blew off. The car would start, run with a horrible idle then die a few seconds later. Stepping on the gas raised the rpm a bit, but then died. Link showed the car running rich based on inadequate air being supplied.

Thanks for the replies. I have disconnected almost every sensor I could find and it doesn't make a difference. Sorry, I should have mentioned that. I also do not have any disconnected pipes. I'll look into getting the ECU reprogrammed. I took it out, took the case off, and I don't see anything that looks fried. Thanks again for all the help!

What is dsmlink?
