So, since spring is coming early, I've decided to start working on the minor cosmetic fixes on my car. Just recently used Muguiar's Headlight Restore Kit (Heavy duty) instead of replacing my stock headlight housing. I must say, they came out pretty darn nice, almost brand new! Gonna be good year for the eclipse LOL

New engine valve gaskets and 18” x 8” Platinum Revelation wheels and Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 PLUS 235/40ZR18 tires.
Also painted the valve cover and heat shield (heat shield color has changed due to heat despite using heat resistant paint.)

Plenty of updates due to owning an older car that has issues haha. Recently replaced the Down pipe, flex pipe and catalytic converter on my car (dealer welded the flex pipe to the cat like geniuses 🤦🏿‍♂️) Had an issue with my hood latch staying locked, which resulted in my hood flipping back and shattering my windshield. This led to my first purchase (car hood) from a fellow DSM owner/ forum member. Gotta say, I’m kinda digging the white.

Taken a bit of a break from working on the car aside from the bare minimum maintenance. This spring summer, my goals are:

Cold air intake
Cat back exhaust
Replace AC compressor
Solve my overheating issue- will make a separate reply about this one
New brake lines + custom painted calipers (desperately need replacing)
Replace passenger door mechanism- Wont open from the outside anymore (help on how to fix would be great)
Flush all fluids for a maintenance fresh start
Undercarriage lights
New Auido headunit with carplay + small subwoofer

+just to name a few LOL.

I'll be diving into the forums for as much help as I can find. Any suggestions or guidance will be graciously appreciated.

For the overheating, I've been having this issue where if I idle for too long or get caught in heavy traffic where i am constantly in 1st gear, the car overheats like crazy. I make sure the coolant is toppped off, especially in high summer, but im pretty sure I might have a leak somewhere. Gonna take it to be pressure tested before it gets too hot.

I've done a flush multiple times, then driven with just distilled water to get get any stray impurities left behind, then refilled with fresh 50/50 coolant, yet the issue persists.

Im considering getting a new radiator to see if the issue lies there. I also only have a fan on the drivers side of the radiator. My manual says that my model only comes with one, but I think it's supposed to have one on each side. (99 2G GS). I'll add pics of under the hood for context once I get the chance. Has anyone else had overheating issues like this and found a solution? IDK if just throwing on an after market fan would be the right move, or if I should try to find the OEM fan that potentially goes there.
